Emotional glass ceilings are the interior barriers within the hearts and minds of many, but often exist to a greater extent amongst women and minorities.

They happen for a variety of reasons but there is one specific and consistent factor for their occurrence; negative communication. We commonly internalize the negative messages we have experienced. These harmful messages can morph into inaccurate belief systems in our minds, which shakes our confidence and belief in ourselves. It’s important to acknowledge these internal barriers because they can significantly hold us back, although we each have the capacity and power to conquer them. By sharing personal experiences of confronting emotional glass ceilings and dismantling them, we can help encourage and empower other people to do the same.
